When the Health-Worx medical facility
opened on May 2, at the new Carlswald Shopping Centre
in Midrand, the staff waited for the rush of patients.
But the did not anticipate the drama with which that
would have tp content only three days adter their
opening.
On May 2, at 7.55pm, the facility received s desperate
call from Craig Fulford.
One of his employees, Pleasure Mashana, who was pregnant
with her first child, had visited another facility where
she was told that her babywould be born the following
week.
The baby, however, had other ideas and, on the evening
in question, while Pleasure was in Craig's car, she went
into labour.
The terrified Craig rushed her to Health-Worx, where she
was taken into the emergency rooms, which still smelt of
fresh new paint.
The capable staff got to work and beautiful baby Tina,
who weighed in at 3,08kg, was delivered at 8.19pm.
After the birth, the broadly smiling mother -- the fear
and pain forgotten -- and her healthy offspring were
taken by ambulance to recover for the rest of the night
at the Carstenhoff Hospital.
The doctors, nursing and administration staff of Health-Worx
Carlswald wish Pleasure and Tina -- our youngest patient
to date -- health, happiness and blessed future. |
